Wine Odyssey Australia named winner of the ‘Best NSW Wine List’

Wine Odyssey Australia was named the winner of the ‘Best NSW Wine List’ by the respected Restaurant & Catering Association of NSW.

Wine Odyssey Australia was named the winner of the ‘Best NSW Wine List’ by the respected Restaurant & Catering Association of NSW at the Metropolitan Awards for Excellence held on Monday night at Sydney Convention Centre.

It also received an ‘Award for Excellence’ and named in the final four ‘Best Wine Bars’, keeping excellent company with the winner Tastevin Bistro & Wine Bar and fellow finalists Gazebo Wine Garden and Time To Vino.

Topping off a great September of accolades, these awards pay testament to the enormous commitment to creating a unique wine experience, by the owners Angela Brown and Lynette Rae in less than twelve months since they began their Odyssey.

Still a month shy of its first anniversary, Wine Odyssey Australia’s Angela Brown says ‘it’s a huge feat to be winning these types of awards in our first year. We’re extremely proud of what our team have been able to achieve in such a short time.’

Wine Odyssey Australia opened in November 2008 with a mission of creating Australia’s first wine and food experience bar and a world first showcase for independent Australian wineries.

Burgeoning wine lovers are able to discover a richer dimension in their wine experience - through a Wine Bar, Aroma Room and Tasting Theatre - Wine Odyssey Australia has introduced the rarely tasted treasures of Australian wine and the distinctive winemakers behind them, broadening wine awareness, expanding wine vocabulary, and ultimately deepening appreciation of and desire for premium Australian wine.

In other timely news, Wine Odyssey Australia has partnered with Channel 10 and will be the online Virtual Sommelier for the Celebrity Masterchef Show Website, which started last night. Sommelier Donna Freeman, and the Wine Odyssey team will be adding content each week by way of interesting articles, matching varietals to recipes, as well as providing a glossary and grape varietal information.
