2008 Galli Estate 'Artigiano' Pinot Gris.
Established in 1997, the Galli Estate Rockbank vineyard occupies 50 hectares just 40 minutes northwest of Melbourne CBD. Along with the vineyard, there is a state of the art winery, cellar door and restaurant.
The wines of the Galli Estate Artigiano range are hand crafted with passion and attention to detail. Each wine is a true expression of the grape variety and the vineyard in which it was grown. The vines for this wine were planted in 2000, 2002 and 2003.
The vines are spur-pruned and vertical shoot positioned to ensure fruit development and even ripening. The vines are low yielding to ensure richly flavoured grapes. The hand-picked grapes were crushed and pressed and the free-run juice only was settled and then fermented at low temperature. After a long fermentation the wine was then cold-settled to clarify. After racking to remove yeast lees, the wine was then stabilised, fined and filtered.Region: Sunbury VIC Cellaring: Drink now. Closure: Screwcap Alc. Content: 13.5%
